Digital marketing made simple

The client: The Digital Advert Agency

When the COVID-19 pandemic shook up the world, it threw a spanner in the works for a lot of traditional marketing. Print was dead and budgets were rock bottom, but businesses still had to at least try and sell, or face the consequences. That’s where the idea for The Digital Advert Agency was born.

The Moment of Change: Waking up

The Digital Advert Agency approached us because they needed a brand that would be friendly enough to capture the hearts and minds of those companies that desperately needed to pivot to a new normal, but still appeal to digital natives. Nothing like a challenge, right?

The plan we made

But it was a challenge we were happy to rise to – hey, we had to make some money during the pandemic, too. Given our own digital expertise, we thought about the kinds of businesses that The Digital Advert Agency would need to reach, and what would draw those businesses in.

Before we dove into the brand identity, the messaging had to be solid. That meant working with the DAA team to look at how they could educate businesses that traditionally relied on print, and developing a tone of voice that would explain the benefits in a straightforward, no nonsense way.

The story we told

Once we had the brand voice nailed down, we got to work on the visuals. This had to be bright, colourful, optimistic – so we drew inspiration from the colours of the social media platforms themselves, using blues, yellows and pinks to make everything pop.

We used the comment bubble as the housing for our logo, before flooding graphics with reaction icons and comic-like shapes that you couldn’t help but look more closely at. And, to top it all off, we threw in some animations centred around DAA’s core messaging to bring it all to life.

The Mighty change

The team at The Digital Advert Agency loved the look, feel and voice of the brand, and could easily roll it out to suit their own social advertising and organic posts.

We also developed a website for them, complete with an e-commerce integration so people across the globe could buy packages upfront and know exactly what they were getting for their money – but you can find out more about that in our website case study.
