A bold new plan for Gloucestershire’s future growth

Gloucestershire's Local Growth Plan designed by Mighty, marketing agency Cheltenham

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – we thrive on making big, complicated documents simple. When working with GFirst LEP, we designed some of their most important strategies, and our approach to this was no different. Our main objective was to ensure it didn’t look anything like a bland, boring council document but instead, would be something that residents, businesses and decision makers alike would enjoy reading through.

Although we gave a subtle nod back to the council’s chosen fonts for printed documents, everything else was up for grabs. We took the council colours and found tints and shades that would leap off the page, separating the Local Growth Plan’s five distinct missions into easy-to-read sections.

When you’ve got a lot of stats and information, it can be hard to give it all enough space. That’s why throughout the document, we’ve got plenty of callout boxes and quotes that highlight key messages, while creating clear and useful diagrams that bring stats to the fore.

Photography was a key aspect of this, but instead of simply throwing up full-page pictures here and there, we looked to introduce borders and grids instead, helping them to stand out and showcase what’s already making our county special.

The Local Growth Plan was adopted by the cabinet and is now being put into practice to keep the county on track for growth over the next ten years. Download a copy here.
