Your tech-support sidekick
The client: Pokkit
Most of the time, if you get a dodgy email that looks like it could be legit, you might give it a quick Google before you act. But you might also go ahead and click it anyway, just in case. After all, you’ve been waiting for that update, or that survey looks just like that one HR sent out last week.
If you own a small business, then you probably don’t have an IT manager that can help you, or if you do, they’re swamped with other tasks. What if you could get an instant reply, with real, credible advice, and without having to go through a painful ticketing process?

Putting strategy to work
As with all our projects, we started off by figuring out who this product was for (and, equally as importantly, who it wasn’t for.) We soon realised that Pokkit was perfect for SMEs around the world, but a lot of those businesses aren’t the most cyber-savvy.
We needed a name that was friendly and reassuring, and after a few rounds of ruling out existing trademarks, we landed on Pokkit – a play on ‘pocket’, referencing how the tool is always with you and always available. It sounds quirky and different, but not hugely techy, so it doesn’t feel intimidating to people who don’t “get” IT.
